PM Oli expresses pleasure at natural gas discovery in Dailekh

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has expressed his pleasure at the discovery of natural gas in Dailekh district.

In a Facebook post, PM Oli wrote, "I remember the days when exploration of petroleum products began in Dailekh. There were various voices of support and opposition. The news of 112 billion cubic metres of gas has reminded me of those days." He added that the announcement of the storage of 112 billion cubic metres of methane gas in Dailekh had rekindled those memories, stating, "This is good news."

Petroleum exploration work was started in several hilly districts across the country, including Dailekh, following a government-to-government agreement between Nepal and China during the Oli-led government in 2019.
