RASUWA: Eighteen people are reported missing after last night’s devastating flood on Lhende River. Among the missing are three police personnel and six Chinese nationals.
Of the 20 people trapped, nine have been rescued safely, and efforts continue to reach the remainder, confirmed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Hem Bahadur Shahi.
A Nepali Army helicopter has been deployed to Timure, the flood-affected area, to assist ongoing rescue operations.
The flood swept away the Miteri Bridge on Nepal–China border. Shortly beyond this point, Lhende River joins Bhotekoshi River. According to Rasuwa's Assistant Chief District Officer Dhruba Prasad Adhikari, floodwaters also carried off vehicles parked in the yard of the Customs Office at Timure.
The Syafrubesi–Rasuwagadhi road has been severely disrupted at several locations, halting transport.
The barrage of the 111-megawatt Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Project and the Customs Office at Timure have also been damaged.
Armed Police Force Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ramhari Khadka said comprehensive details of the losses are awaited.
