
KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange’s (NEPSE) index gained 1.25%, or 34.61 points, to close at 2,794.78 on Tuesday.
A total of 43,111,416 shares of 330 companies were traded in 99,505 transactions, generating a turnover of Rs 14,034,839,880.49.
The trading index was the only decliner, falling 0.18%, while all other group sub-indices advanced. The development bank index led the gains, up 3.86%. Banking rose 1.59%, finance 0.75%, hotels and tourism 0.59%, hydropower 1.28% and investment 0.52%. Manufacturing and processing added 1.39%, microfinance 1.85%, mutual fund 1.58%, non-life insurance 1.85% and others 0.33%.
Of the companies traded, 193 saw their share prices rise, while 55 ended lower. 10% KBL Debenture 2090 (KBLD90) and Three Star Hydropower (TSHL) recorded gains, while Mai Khola Hydropower (MKHL) plunged 7.87%, the steepest fall of the day.
