KATHMANDU: Lumbini Lions have unveiled their brand-new logo, a powerful representation of the team’s heritage, spirit and national pride.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, chairman Ishwar Bahadur GC said, “This logo does not just showcase our team’s strength on the cricket field – it celebrates the glory of Lumbini itself. Born from the sacred land of Buddha, this team roars on the field and puts Nepal on the world map.”
He added, “Lumbini Lions have woven together sport, culture and national pride into one meaningful symbol.”
The new logo incorporates several elements that capture Lumbini’s identity: the Maya Devi Temple where Lord Buddha was born and the historic Ashoka Pillar erected by Emperor Ashoka in 249 BC. The red colour and the moon and sun symbols represent the Nepali flag and patriotism, while the golden lettering symbolises the eternal peace flame that burns continuously in Lumbini.
Established in 2024, Lumbini Lions are gearing up to compete as a franchise team in the Nepal Premier League with tremendous energy and enthusiasm. Through this new logo, they aim to carry Nepal’s identity and Buddha’s message of peace as they begin a fresh chapter in Nepali cricket.
