LUMBINI: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel on Saturday monitored various development projects overseen by Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City in Rupandehi district.

Minister Paudel, who has been in the district since Friday inspecting projects in Rupandehi Constituency No. 2, is also scheduled to visit further schemes on Sunday.

On Saturday, he met stakeholders and local residents to discuss the construction of the proposed Ujir Singh Stadium in Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City-13, to be built by Lumbini Province government. He vowed to clear all hurdles and advance construction, assuring that development work in Butwal would not suffer a funding shortfall.

“We will launch a campaign to make Butwal’s roads dust-free, and there will be no budgetary constraints for that. Local people should monitor the quality and timelines of these projects,” he said.

Paudel also visited the site for the proposed Agricultural Produce Centre at Karsaghat in Butwal-15. A target has been set to acquire land and establish the centre’s physical infrastructure in the current fiscal year 2025/26, with an investment of more than Rs 4 billion.

He went on to inspect the under-construction Ramnagar–Pharsatikar Road, the Nayagaun Drinking Water Project and the Belbas–Jhulungepul Road.
