CNI forms 19 sectoral committees, councils, forums

KATHMANDU: Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) has formed 19 committees, councils and forums to operate on a sectoral basis.

The bodies established include the Industry Committee, Revenue Committee, Make in Nepal-Swadeshi Committee, Global Business and Diaspora Committee, Infrastructure Committee, Banking and Finance Committee, Tourism Committee, Agriculture and MAP Committee, District and Province Coordination Committee, Membership Committee, Certificate of Origin Committee, Education and Skill Committee and Health Council. In addition, the Employers' Council, Energy Development Council, IT Council, CEOs Forum, Women Leadership Forum, and Startup and CNI-YEF Forum have been formed.

On Sunday, at a programme held at the CNI secretariat, President Birendra Raj Pandey handed over letters of nomination to the chairs and co-chairs of all committees, councils and forums.

President Pandey expressed confidence that each body would work responsibly to provide clear policy suggestions to the government and regulatory authorities, promote entrepreneurship and contribute to the country’s overall economic development. He said that, with their cooperation, CNI would operate effectively over the next two years.

For the Industry Committee, Rahul Agrawal has been appointed chair and Guru Adhikari co-chair. On the Revenue Committee, Gopal Kumar Agrawal serves as chair, with Deepak Kumar Agrawal and Sheshmani Dahal as co-chairs. Hitesh Golchha chairs the Agriculture and MAP Committee. Prashi Agarwal leads the Make in Nepal-Swadeshi Committee, with Vidushi Rana as co-chair. Chandra Chandan and Barna Neupane head the Global Business and Diaspora Committee as chair and co-chair respectively. The Infrastructure Committee is chaired by Ram Krishna Khatiwada with Basanta Chand as co-chair. Barun Kumar Todi chairs the Banking and Finance Committee. Pamfa Dhamala chairs the Tourism Committee, supported by co-chairs Ashok Pokhrel and Romi Aryal. Lekh Raj Pokhrel is chair of the District and Province Coordination Committee, with Pawan Kumar Sharda as co-chair. Gaurav Sharda heads the Membership Committee, and Akash Golchha chairs the Certificate of Origin Committee. The Education and Skill Committee is chaired by Ashish Jajodia, with Yash Agrawal as co-chair. Manish Khemka chairs the Health Council, with Ashish Agrawal as co-chair.

Likewise, Dhruba Rijal chairs the Employers' Council. Ashish Garg and Sanjeev Neupane lead the Energy Development Council. Sanjay Golchha chairs the IT Council. Harkirat Singh Bedi heads the CEOs Forum. Vidushi Rana and Ashrayata Karki serve as chair and co-chair of the Women Leadership Forum. Anurag Goyal is chair of the Startup and CNI-YEF, with Ashish Agrawal as co-chair.

The programme was attended by CNI vice presidents Rohit Gupta and Gokul Bhandari; office-bearers Sandeep Kumar Sharda and Prashi Agrawal; Vidushi Rana; Director General Ghanshyam Ojha; and other dignitaries.
