KATHMANDU: The Department of Information and Broadcasting (DoIB) has informed that it will no longer register or renew online media.
In a notice issued on Tuesday, the DoIB said it had stopped registering and renewing online media in the wake of a change to the rules.
The DoIB issued the notice after the government decided that online media would be registered with the District Administration Offices. The government introduced this provision by amending the Some Nepal Act.
Previously, the DoIB registered and renewed online media in accordance with the Online Media Operation Directive, 2073.
