Cash incentive given to farmers to enhance productivity

Gorkha: The Dharche Rural Municipality in Gorkha district has provided cash incentives to the farmers as a measure to increase agricultural productivity. 

In the last fiscal year 2081/82, the rural municipality distributed Rs 467,500 in grants on the basis of production.

The chief of the agriculture section of the rural municipality, Anil Nepali, said the farmers were provided with the grants individually and also in their groups. 

The farmers received the incentive for growing cash crops and fruits, and rearing livestock. The recipient farmers grew Akabare (chilli), dragon fruits, potatoes, oranges and bananas. Also, the beekeepers were the beneficiaries.
