MOSCOW: Russia's GDP grew 1.2% in the first half of 2025, according to media reports on Wednesday.
The Russian Ministry of Economic Development estimates that the economy grew 1.2% year on year in the first half of 2025, TASS news agency reported.
Russia's GDP grew 1.1% in the second quarter of 2025, following a 1.4% expansion in the first quarter, according to a preliminary estimate by the Federal State Statistics Service.
"The main factor behind the slowdown was weaker domestic demand, which was reflected in a notable easing of inflation -- from a peak of 10.3 % year on year in March to 8.55 % as of August 11," the ministry was quoted by TASS as saying.
