OPPO launches A5x smartphone with IP65 protection in Nepal

KATHMANDU: OPPO has recently launched its latest A series smartphone, the OPPO A5x, in Nepal. Engineered for exceptional durability and reliability, the handset features IP65-rated water and dust resistance, military-grade shock protection and 6,000 mAh battery promising an industry-leading five-year lifespan.

The A5x’s sealed body repels sand, dirt and splashes, making it ideal for outdoor use, demanding work environments or unpredictable weather. It holds an SGS Gold Label durability rating and incorporates a reinforced frame, a waterproof USB-C port and impact-resistant double-tempered glass that withstands 160% more force than standard screens. Internal components are further shielded by silicone seals and precision engineering to guard against shocks, scratches and even accidental run-overs.

Powering the device is a 6,000 mAh battery built on OPPO’s centralised-tab design, which enables faster charging, cooler operation and enhanced safety. The handset delivers up to 16.3 hours of video streaming, 26.6 hours of voice calls, and 450 hours on standby. Even after 1,700 charge cycles, the battery retains over 80% of its capacity. Supporting 45 W SUPERVOOC™ Flash Charge, the A5x reaches 30% charge in 21 minutes and full capacity in 84 minutes.

The A5x runs ColorOS 15 and integrates advanced AI features alongside Google’s Gemini AI assistant to streamline daily tasks and boost productivity. Photography duties fall to a triple-lens setup: a 32 MP main camera, a 2 MP depth sensor and a 5 MP front-facing camera, all enhanced by AI-powered imaging tools and Portrait Mode. OPPO’s Trinity Engine further promises smooth, reliable performance backed by 48-month Fluency Protection to keep the device responsive over time.

Under the hood sits the Snapdragon® 6s Gen 1 processor, and the A5x is offered in 4 + 64 GB, 4 + 128 GB and 6 + 128 GB memory configurations. OPPO’s RAM Expansion feature allows users to allocate storage as virtual RAM for smoother multitasking.
