KATHMANDU: Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with TikTok to launch its Lifetime Experiences campaign today.

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey was the chief guest at the ceremony.

Under the terms of the MoU, NTB will upload promotional content to TikTok using the hashtag #LifetimeExperiences, which will be distributed to 80 countries via the platform’s feed.

“Since TikTok is a globally popular platform, we believe this collaboration will help introduce Nepal to the world,” said NTB Chief Executive Officer Deepak Raj Joshi.

NTB and TikTok will collaborate with both local and international travel creators, inviting and supporting them to explore Nepal and document their journeys to showcase the country’s beauty worldwide.

“Nepal offers some of the most awe-inspiring natural landscapes and cultural encounters on the planet, and we are excited to partner with the NTB to showcase the country’s nature, cultural heritage and warm hospitality to the world,” said Ferdous Mottakin, head of public policy and government relations at TikTok South Asia.

TikTok will also partner with NTB to conduct workshops in which travel content creators and tourism operators will learn to utilise TikTok for tourism promotion.

The partnership will culminate in a VisitNepal event in Kathmandu later this year.
