
KHANDBARI, SANKHUWASABHA: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Dipak Khadka has stated that skilled manpower is the basis for sustainable prosperity.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of a 20-day Power House Operation and Maintenance training at Manakamana Ratna Ambika Secondary School in Tumlingtar today, Minister Khadka said that traditional education alone is insufficient and that technical skills and practical knowledge are essential to compete in the labour market.
Highlighting Sankhuwasabha’s geographic and tourism potential, he mentioned that the district’s connection to a tri-country border area could generate billions of rupees in revenue through tourism and must be harnessed effectively. He added that a CTEVT office and an Ayurvedic hospital will be established locally in the near future.
CTEVT member-secretary Mahesh Bhattarai welcomed the Ministry’s initiative and urged that trainees be offered internships on hydropower projects.
Khandbari Municipality Mayor Mahesh Thapaliya said regular skill-based training programmes are vital to making the district self-reliant. Trainees reported that the knowledge they acquired has inspired them to pursue employment and entrepreneurial opportunities.
Balaju School of Engineering and Technology delivered the training with support from the Skills for Sustainable and Dignified Employment Project.
