KATHMANDU: Federation of Export Entrepreneurs Nepal (FEEN) and Nepal-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NGCCI) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Wednesday. The agreement aims to strengthen Nepal’s export sector and deepen economic ties with Germany and Europe through joint initiatives in market access, investment facilitation and policy advocacy.
Under the terms of the MoU, FEEN and NGCCI will work with relevant ministries and government departments in Nepal to identify and remove obstacles facing micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. NGCCI will also leverage its German network to generate foreign direct investment in Nepal. Both organisations will pursue policy advocacy in Kathmandu and Berlin to promote favourable trade and investment regulations for private sector development.
Santosh Chandra Kunwar, President of NGCCI, and Govind Ghimire, President of FEEN, said the agreement would enable them to participate in major German trade fairs, organise cultural exchange programmes and showcase Nepal’s tourism potential. They added that joint capacity-building workshops and knowledge-exchange opportunities would help exporters and MSMEs overcome trade barriers and improve competitiveness.

FEEN, an umbrella organisation representing 28 commodity associations and individual exporters, promotes Nepal’s unique products, enhances productivity and secures access to global markets. Its motto is “Nepal’s economic development through export-led growth.” NGCCI, which has operated for 35 years, focuses on bilateral trade relations between Nepal and Germany, and on expanding links with the wider European market.
The MoU further commits FEEN and NGCCI to share best business practices and facilitate technology transfer, raising Nepal’s profile in international markets and strengthening partnerships between Nepali entrepreneurs and the German business community.
