KATHMANDU: Tribhuvan University (TU) Registrar’s Office has announced that classes will be suspended on September 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 and 21, and on October 26, and will only resume after Chhath festival on October 28.
In a notice issued today, the university stated that, due to the existing unusual situation across the country, it would be difficult to start classes immediately and that they would now resume only after the Chhath festival.
In another notice issued on Wednesday, the TU Controller of Examinations said all remaining examinations for the second year of the four-year bachelor’s degree (partial and chance) under the annual examination system, which were scheduled to start from September 12 onwards, have been postponed until further notice. This decision was taken by the TU Central Examination Steering Committee on Wednesday.
The notice further requested that decisions regarding the schedules of semester examinations currently being conducted by the institutes and faculties should be made based on the convenience and needs of their respective deans’ offices, in accordance with the resolution of the meeting held on Wednesday.
