
KATHMANDU: Nepal Insurance Authority (NIA) has instructed insurance companies to settle claims promptly and easily arising from the difficult situation that has emerged since September 8.
Director Kundan Sapkota stated that the NIA has urged life insurers to facilitate claims in light of the adverse circumstances and irreparable damage in both the public and private sectors, and to consider the damage to insured assets and the resulting hardship.
The NIA has also requested insurers to provide weekly details of claims for damage caused by the adverse situation. There has been a significant loss of life and property due to demonstrations and vandalism on September 8 and 9.
