KATHMANDU: Former Chief Justice Sushila Karki has been appointed Prime Minister for the new interim government.
The Office of the President has built consensus on the formation of a new government under the leadership of Karki.
Preparations are underway to administer the oath to the new Prime Minister, Sushila Karki, by President Ramchandra Paudel in a while, the office said.
The consensus has been forged to dissolve Parliament. It is reported that a three-member Cabinet will be formed tonight.

It is learnt that President Paudel made untiring efforts to build consensus in the difficult situation caused by the Gen Z protests that led to the resignation of then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Tuesday, creating a political vacuum.
The Nepali Army (NA) also supported the consensus-building process and assisted in the management of national security.

Further details are awaited.
