
BIRGUNJ, PARSA: Petroleum products worth Rs 26.33 billion were imported through the Birgunj Customs Office in the first two months of fiscal year 2025/26.
Diesel, petrol, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), aviation turbine fuel (ATF) and kerosene amounted to Rs 26.33 billion, Chief Customs Administrator Bishnu Prasad Gyawali said.
Imports rose by Rs 1.76 billion compared with the same period of the previous fiscal year, Gyawali added.
The boost in imports pushed revenue up by Rs 1.29 billion.
Gyawali mentioned that the customs office had collected Rs 9.89 billion from petroleum product imports in the first two months of the previous fiscal year, while revenue under the same heading reached Rs 11.18 billion in the period under review of current fiscal year.
