KATHMANDU: The Grand Finale of the highly anticipated 2025 PUBG MOBILE Nepal Series has officially kicked off, marking the climax of Nepal’s premier esports tournament. The series, which began with its Open Qualifier round on August 26, has now entered its final stage with a $5,000 prize pool.
More than 11,000 players from across Nepal took part in the competition, and the top 16 teams have earned the opportunity to secure a seeding slot in the upcoming PUBG MOBILE Star Challenge, scheduled for December 2025.
Designed as a community-focused initiative, the tournament provides aspiring gamers with a platform to showcase their skills and gain valuable competitive experience. This year introduces a franchise-style format, in which the 16 leading teams not only vie for the national title but also collaborate with top gaming creators and content personalities, blending competitive rigour with influencer-led engagement.
The competition unfolds in multiple phases: Open Qualifiers ran from August 26–31; the Round of 128 took place on September 3–4; the Round of 64 on September 5–6; the Playoffs on September 19–21; and the Grand Finals from September 22–24.
In a landmark move towards inclusivity, PUBG MOBILE is hosting a Girls Only Showmatch during the finals—the first of its kind in Nepal. Sixteen all-female teams will compete in this special exhibition, each receiving Rs 25,000 in prize money. The initiative aims to break stereotypes and encourage broader participation in Nepal’s growing esports community.
The Grand Finale is streaming live on PUBG MOBILE Esports South Asia’s YouTube channel.
More than a tournament, the 2025 PUBG MOBILE Nepal Series celebrates Nepal’s vibrant gaming community and its potential on the global stage. As the competition unfolds, fans can expect high-octane matches, fierce rivalries and the emergence of a champion squad to represent Nepal at one of the world’s most prestigious esports events. The series underscores PUBG MOBILE’s commitment to nurturing local talent, fostering community engagement and promoting esports as a unifying, inclusive platform.
PUBG MOBILE is based on PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, the phenomenon that transformed interactive entertainment in 2017. Up to 100 players parachute onto a remote island to battle in a winner-takes-all showdown, scavenging weapons, vehicles and supplies within a shrinking play zone. PUBG MOBILE is co-developed by Lightspeed Studios of Tencent Games and KRAFTON, Inc.
