JANAKPURDHAM: A state-of-the-art five-star hotel, Shangri-La Premier Resort and Casino, will be built in Prakauli in Jaleshwar, Mahottari district. The project is estimated to cost Rs 1.2 billion, the developer has said.
The project, financed and developed by the Satya Group, aims to promote and develop the tourism sector of Madhesh Province. The hotel will offer 75 luxury rooms built to international standards, an international-level casino aimed at foreign tourists, a modern banquet hall for weddings and corporate conferences, and a premium club.
Dharma Mandal, Managing Director of Satya Group, said the hotel will be constructed on roughly 22 katthas of land and that land purchase and mapping have already been completed. He added that more than 200 local young people are expected to receive direct employment once the hotel opens.
Mandal also outlined the financing plan for the project, saying 70% of the required funds will come from bank loans while the remaining 30% will be the Satya Group’s own equity.
Speaking to journalists in Janakpurdham today, Mandal said the development is part of a long-term strategy to position Janakpur, Jaleshwar and surrounding areas as a major hub for accommodation and entertainment, catering to border tourism and visitors. He said the hotel is expected to stimulate business activity in the region.
