
KATHMANDU: More than 267,000 people have left Kathmandu Valley since September 22 to celebrate Bada Dashain festival, according to Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office.
A total of 267,441 people have departed for their home villages and towns. On September 22, 40,923 people left the valley, followed by 39,814 on September 23. On September 24, 57,559 departed, and 56,906 on September 25.
Spokesperson Naresh Subedi said a further 72,239 people left on September 26 and September 27. He added that the number of people leaving is on the rise, with 45,493 vehicles exiting via the Thankot, Sanga, Dakshinkali and Balaju checkpoints since September 22.
