
KATHMANDU: Himalayan Everest Insurance (HEI) has announced that it has begun swiftly settling claims for properties damaged during Gen‑Z protests on September 8 and 9. The company has so far paid Rs 217,445,831 against 245 of the 287 claimed damages insured through HEI.
The company said this payment amount covers advance and final settlements for properties damaged during the Gen‑Z protests. The head of the claims department, Roj Raj Luitel, stated that the company is committed to providing simple and easy claim payments within regulatory provisions.
HEI further announced that high‑priority claim payments will resume as usual from October 7. The company expedited the payment process to provide convenience and financial relief to its insured customers, given the difficult circumstances, and said the effort aims to ensure financial protection for policyholders during the challenging period.
The company has requested remaining policyholders whose compensation claims are still pending to complete the necessary documentation and procedures and to contact the nearest company branch or its central office.
HEI also paid tribute to the martyrs who lost their lives during the protests and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
