
KATHMANDU: The Nepali champion startup team has left for Silicon Valley in the United States of America to compete in the Startup World Cup 2025.
Founder of DL Surf, Arjun Ghimire, departed on Thursday to represent Nepal at the global competition. DL Surf won the national final of the international startup contest organised by Startup Hub Nepal and World Trade Group in Nepal.
Startup Hub Nepal Chairperson and South Asia Chief Dr Shambhu Pokharel said Nepal has long aspired to produce a winner in the competition, which carries a prize of Rs 144 million.
Dr Pokharel said the event would encourage Nepali startups to adopt a global mindset. The competition is scheduled from October 17 to 22, where DL Surf will compete with champion startups from around 100 countries.
Startup World Cup is a series of global startup conferences and competitions powered by Pegasus Tech Ventures.
