NEPSE index falls 3.05 pc to 2,503.35
KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index decreased by 78.83 points, or 3.05%, to close at 2,503.35 today.
A total of 14,364,682 shares of 324 companies were traded in 67,202 transactions, generating a turnover of Rs 6,707,245,266. The share prices of 242 companies decreased, while nine companies saw an increase.
All sub‑indices declined: Hotels and Tourism recorded the largest fall at 4.84%, followed by the other indices at 4.79%. Banking fell by 2.30%, Development Bank by 2.93%, Finance by 3.67%, Hydropower by 3.97%, Investment by 3.13% and Life Insurance by 2.55%. Manufacturing and processing decreased by 1.94%, Microfinance by 2.88%, Mutual Fund by 0.99%, Non‑Life Insurance by 2.32% and Tradings by 2.85%.
Nepal Micro Insurance Company (NMIC) led gains with a 6.01% rise. Butwal Power Company (BPCL) recorded the steepest decline at 9.27%.
By transaction amount, Nepal Reinsurance Company (NRIC) posted the highest turnover at Rs 380,747,072. By volume, Union Hydropower (UNHPL) recorded the highest trading volume with 726,673 units traded.
