The MoHA announced that the government has directed all district administration offices to convene meetings with district security committee officials and to include local businesses, including district chambers of commerce and industry.
FNCCI welcomed the move, saying the decision follows a request the federation sent to the ministry on October 19. In that letter, FNCCI sought formal assurances of security for the private sector and asked that FNCCI representatives — including presidents and other delegates from concerned district and municipal chambers — be included in central and district-level security committees.
FNCCI Acting President Anjan Shrestha said the government’s instruction will strengthen government–private sector coordination at central, provincial, district and local levels, raise business morale and help make the economy more dynamic. "We believe that this decision will boost the morale of businesses and make the economy dynamic," he said, adding his thanks to the Government of Nepal.
Following the government directive, FNCCI has urged all district chambers to contact their respective district administration offices and complete the necessary coordination to ensure business participation in security planning, risk assessment and emergency decision-making.
