KATHMANDU: Nepal made a special presentation of its tourism destinations at the recently held 13th Bangladesh Travel and Tourism Fair (BTTF) in Dhaka.

Acting Director of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), Sunil Sharma, gave a detailed presentation about Nepal's "once-in-a-lifetime" tourism destinations.

Nepali Ambassador to Bangladesh, Ghanashyam Bhandari, said there is a historical, cultural and people-to-people relationship between Nepal and Bangladesh, and he stressed the need to further strengthen tourism exchange.

Commenting on Nepal, President of the Tour Operator Association of Bangladesh Md Rafeuzzaman and Director Md Taslim Amin (Shovan) said Nepal is a natural and adventurous destination, Sharma added.

Nepali students in Dhaka presented folk cultural performances during the event. Organisers say the programme will help further strengthen cultural ties between the two countries.

Different sessions, including B2B interaction and networking, were organised, and a special holiday package was announced.

More than 100 Bangladeshi tour operators, tourism entrepreneurs and stakeholders from both countries attended the fair.

The BTTF, the largest tourism expo in Bangladesh, ran from October 30 to November 1. A total of 10 tourism companies participated in the fair.

The NTB-led team comprised 16 tour operators and representatives of travel agencies and hotels.

Organisers say the international forum provided a significant opportunity for Nepali tourism entrepreneurs and the NTB to strengthen regional cooperation and international relations and to promote Nepal as a destination for a "lifetime experience".
