IRGDD President Ambassador Parajuli meets AGDA Deputy Director General in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, UAE: Ambassador Dr Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal, President of International Relations & Global Diplomacy Dialogue (IRGDD) and former ambassador of Nepal, met Dr Mohammed Ibrahim Al Dhaheri, Deputy Director General of Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy (AGDA), in Abu Dhabi to explore cooperation on diplomatic training and research.

During the meeting on Thursday, the two officials discussed avenues for collaboration, including diplomatic training, research exchange and joint academic programmes. Both sides expressed interest in developing initiatives in foreign policy and diplomatic studies, economic diplomacy and development cooperation, joint research and policy briefs, capacity building for emerging diplomats and researchers, and expert exchanges for participation in global dialogue platforms.

AGDA, the UAE’s leading institution for diplomatic training, research and strategic studies, prepares future diplomats and supports evidence‑based foreign policy through advanced programmes, professional courses and policy‑oriented research.

Ambassador Dr Parajuli highlighted IRGDD’s mission to strengthen Nepal’s global engagement through research, diplomacy and international partnerships, and emphasised the value of linking Nepal’s academic and diplomatic community with institutions such as AGDA.

The meeting is seen as a step towards deeper Nepal–UAE think‑tank cooperation and greater exchange of knowledge, diplomatic experience and professional training. IRGDD expressed appreciation to AGDA for its welcome and its role in shaping diplomatic leadership in the UAE.

Dr Parajuli meets IRENA Deputy Director General 

Amb Dr Parajuli also visited the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) headquarters in Masdar City on Thursday and held talks with Gauri Singh, Deputy Director‑General of IRENA, on strengthening cooperation in renewable energy, capacity building and green development.

Both parties agreed to enhance their existing relationship and explore deeper collaboration in technical assistance, policy research and sustainable energy initiatives. Dr Parajuli expressed appreciation for IRENA’s leadership in the global clean energy transition and reaffirmed IRGDD’s commitment to working with IRENA to support Nepal’s green energy ambitions.
