KATHANDU: Golyan Group recently organised a special 'Kids Play‑Date' to mark World Children’s Day, bringing together children of martyrs’ families and their guardians at Oops Nepal Fun Park in Dhumbarahi, Kathmandu.

The event combined recreational and educational activities designed to offer a joyful day for beneficiaries of Golyan Group’s scholarship initiative while reinforcing community support for martyrs’ families. Organisers said the play‑date also provided an opportunity for beneficiaries living in Kathmandu to meet, play and take part in intellectually stimulating games.

Golyan Group launched an educational scholarship programme on 10 October aimed at supporting children of martyrs’ families. So far, 27 children have benefited, receiving educational support up to grade 12 under formal agreements with their guardians. The scholarship programme is being rolled out in phases: the first involved signing agreements with guardians, and the second will create tripartite agreements among schools, guardians and Golyan Group to ensure ongoing support.

Akshay Golyan, Managing Director of Golyan Group and the face of the campaign, said the event was intended to build “a new family united by shared commitment and purpose.” He added: “This is a family where every child’s rights are respected, their dignity honoured, and their protection guaranteed.” Golyan stressed that national prosperity depends on the welfare and development of children, and that ensuring their freedom, happiness and access to opportunities is essential.

Jyoti Gaire, Head of Corporate Affairs and Communications at Golyan Group, said, “A child’s happiness embodies all dimensions of their development, and from this happiness springs the path to a prosperous society. Today’s Kids Play‑Date is a celebration of that very truth.”

Golyan Group described the initiative as more than educational assistance, calling it a pledge to honour the sacrifices of martyrs by nurturing their children with love, care and opportunity. The company said the programme stands as a living tribute to the martyrs’ legacy and a beacon of hope for the future.
