KATHMANDU: King’s College has concluded Impact Week 2026, which brought together a 36-member international coaching team and 108 participants from across Nepal to address social and civic challenges.

Held at the college’s Babarmahal campus, the experiential learning programme ran in two phases. A three-day Training of Trainers workshop was held from August 26 to 28, 2026, followed by the main four-day event from August 31 to September 3, 2026.

Participants travelled to Kathmandu from various parts of the country, including Hetauda, Morang, Birgunj and Lumbini.

The initiative had a three-tier leadership structure comprising a Germany-based Lead Coach, five Senior Coaches from Germany, Nepal, India and the United States, and 30 Junior Coaches. Two-thirds of the Junior Coaches were based in Nepal, while the international coaches came from Germany and Bulgaria.

Participants worked in small teams across five thematic areas: Smart Mobility, covering the movement of people and goods through urban and rural areas; Migration in Nepal, focusing on internal and international movement; Independent Living, addressing support for people of all abilities; Sustainable Energy, exploring practical clean-energy approaches; and Health and Wellness, focusing on community wellbeing.

Alicia Korez, a Senior Coach from the United States overseeing the Health & Wellness track, said, “Impact week brings people of all backgrounds and cultures together and unifies them through the shared goals of embracing empathy, collaboration and design thinking. We all come willing to learn, create and connect; and leave with lasting impact for ourselves, each other and the community.”

Nadeem, a Senior Coach from India for the Independent Living track, said, “Impact Week in Kathmandu was an inspiring blend of learning, creativity, innovation, and fun. Through Design Thinking, it connected innovation with real-world challenges in Nepal and beyond. The vibrant environment and excellent organisation at King’s College made it a memorable and enriching experience.”

King’s College introduced Impact Week to Nepal in 2019. The programme uses human-centred design thinking, guiding participants through understanding local communities, identifying specific problems, generating potential solutions, developing initial prototypes and testing concepts with intended beneficiaries.
