KATHMANDU: Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) team beat a team of national artists 7-4 in a friendly futsal match at Dhuku Futsal Ground in Baluwatar, on Saturday.
Organised in coordination with FNCCI’s Sports and Entertainment Forum, the one‑hour match saw FNCCI take an early 3-0 lead in the first half before the artists fought back to level at 3-3 in the second half. FNCCI then scored four further goals while the artists added one, sealing the 7-4 victory.
The event was inaugurated by FNCCI President Chandra Prasad Dhakal, who cut the ribbon before a 10‑minute warm‑up match between FNCCI executive committee officials and the artists. While inaugurating the match, Dhakal said, “Sport is not only for competition but also a great opportunity for mutual friendship and cooperation.”

Participants from FNCCI included President Dhakal, Vice Presidents Hem Raj Dhakal and Jyotsna Shrestha, and Treasurer Bharat Raj Acharya. The artists’ side featured Shiva Shrestha, Dhiren Shakya, Rabindra Khadka and Mohan Niraula, among others.
Programme coordinator and chairperson of FNCCI’s Sports and Entertainment Forum, Hari Bahadur Karki, said the tournament was organised to strengthen friendship and goodwill between industrialists, businesspeople and artists, and that the involvement of senior artists made the match exciting and successful. The participating players were presented with a token of appreciation by FNCCI President Dhakal.
