BIRGUNJ, PARSA: Sixteen different types of foodstuffs worth Rs 5.89 billion have been imported via the Birgunj checkpoint in the first four months of the current fiscal year 2025/26. This is Rs 1.24 billion more than the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
Bishnu Prasad Gyanwali, Chief of Birgunj Customs Office, said maize worth Rs 2.29 billion and paddy worth Rs 2.1 billion were imported during the period.
He added that rice worth Rs 1.6 billion was also imported through the Birgunj checkpoint.
