KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index slightly declined by 0.53% to close at 2,644.70 today.
A turnover of Rs 4,481,394,149.97 was recorded from the trading of 10,810,106 shares of 324 companies in 56,009 transactions.
In today’s trading, the Banking group decreased by 0.58%, Hotels and Tourism by 0.62%, Investment by 0.04%, Life Insurance by 0.57% and Microfinance by 0.06%. The sub‑indices of other groups rose: Development Bank up 0.17%, Finance 0.27%, Hydropower 0.70%, Manufacturing and Processing 0.51%, Mutual Fund 0.25%, Non‑Life Insurance 0.26% and Trading 0.75%.
A positive circuit was applied to the share prices of six companies: Sagar Distillery (SAGAR), Swastik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha (SWASTIK), Jhapa Energy (JHAPA), Mabilung Energy (MABEL), Bungal Hydro (BUNGAL) and Shreenagar Agritech Industries (SAIL). Among the top losers, the share price of Green Ventures (GVL) decreased by 9.85%.
Based on turnover and number of shares traded, Union Hydropower (UNHPL) was the most active stock today, with 634,319 shares traded, amounting to Rs 318,135,479.
