BUTWAL: Rupandehi Chamber of Industries announced on Monday that the 16th National Industrial Exhibition, Agriculture, Technology and Tourism Festival 2082 will be organised in Butwal. The event will run from December 18, 2025 to January 1, 2026 under the guardianship of Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City and the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI).
The exhibition will be staged at the newly completed International Exhibition Centre in Butwal and will feature 10 separate pavilions showcasing domestic production, new technology, tourism and agricultural products. Organisers said the centre will offer modern standard stalls and will be decorated and managed on a different scale compared with previous exhibitions.
Organisers said the main objective of the festival is to display and market products of domestic industries and to encourage consumers to use locally made goods. They added that additional priority is being given to the CNI-run 'Make in Nepal' campaign and that only domestic products will be included in the exhibition.
The exhibition’s key aims include the display and marketing of domestic products, exchange of technical and business experience, seeking opportunities for Nepali industry, dialogue between producers, consumers, experts and government bodies, and identification and encouragement of export-oriented industries. The festival will also focus on encouraging youth and women entrepreneurs, discussing management of tourist areas, and creating industrial manpower.
The event will include around 500 stalls covering industrial technology, agriculture, handicrafts, garments, bakery and confectionery, leather shoes, foodstuffs and information technology. Organisers estimate about 800,000 visitors and a turnover of Rs 300 million.
To add an entertainment element, the festival will host competitions and cultural events, including a folk duet contest, performances by modern singers and musicians, comedians and local artists, musical programmes, a school-level folk dance competition, a college-level elocution contest, a folk devotional song competition, an exhibition idol event and a TikTok promotion competition.
A 101-member main committee under the convenorship of the president of Rupandehi Chamber of Industries has been formed to oversee the exhibition, alongside a 51-member special advisory committee, a 251-member advisory committee, a special evaluation committee led by the immediate past president, and 30 sub-committees.
Krishna Prasad Parajuli, convener of the main committee and president of Rupandehi Chamber of Industries, thanked the media for past support and appealed for continued cooperation, saying the role of media personnel is indispensable for the success of the festival.
