KATHMANDU: The Banking, Finance and Insurance Institute of Nepal (BFIN), in collaboration with the India–Nepal Centre of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), is set to organise Nepal BFSI Summit 2025 in Kathmandu on Friday. The Summit is being held under the theme “Navigating Economic Transition for an Aspirational Nepal.”
The Summit will open with a high‑level inaugural ceremony themed “Ushering Economic Reforms for Nepal’s Inclusive Development.” Dr Prakash Kumar Shrestha, vice‑chairman of the National Planning Commission, will attend as chief guest. The session will feature a theme address by Ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri, chair of the India–Nepal Centre, PHDCCI and former Ambassador of India to Nepal. Guests of honour include Bam Bahadur Mishra, deputy governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB); Dr Rakesh Pandey, deputy chief of mission at the Embassy of India in Nepal; Binod Chaudhary, president emeritus of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI); and Pranav Gupta, resident representative (Nepal) of the International Monetary Fund.
The opening ceremony will also include MoU signings between BFIN and Dhurakij Pundit University (Thailand) and between BFIN and Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management (India), aimed at strengthening international academic and professional collaboration in the BFSI sector.
Following the inaugural session, the Summit will host two technical panel discussions on “Evolving Financial Landscape for a ‘New Nepal’” and “Managing Resilient Nepal’s New Transition – Role of BFSI Sector,” featuring senior policymakers, regulators, bankers, insurers and industry leaders from Nepal and abroad.
