EU offers Rs 7 lakh grant to young entrepreneurs for sustainable packaging

KATHMANDU: The European Union has called for proposals for innovative ideas for a grant worth Rs 700,000. The call targets young entrepreneurs and aims to promote sustainable packaging.

The grant will be awarded under the Green Shift Nepal Project, run by Creasion Nepal with the support of the EU, to young entrepreneurs presenting new ideas for environmentally friendly and sustainable packaging that can be used as an alternative to plastic bags.

Young people in Bagmati Province, Lumbini Province and Madhesh Province are invited to submit their proposals and ideas by 15 January.

The Programme Director of Creasion Nepal, Sujata Koirala, said that, along with the grant, the winning team will receive various types of support, including technical assistance, help to identify markets for their products and access to other investment sources to sustain the business in the long term.
