KATHMANDU: Nepal Police collected over Rs 402.54 million in revenue in the month of Mangsir (November 17 to December 15) of the current fiscal year 2025/26. The money was raised during law enforcement activities and various operations.
According to the Central Police spokesperson, Deputy Inspector General Abi Narayan Kafle, police recovered over Rs 179.56 million from seizure of illegal goods and more than Rs 123.73 million from execution of court verdicts. Further Rs 71.59 million came from traffic enforcement and Rs 8.94 million from seizure of illegal gold and silver.
Spokesperson Kafle added that over Rs 6.44 million was recovered from those involved in hundi transactions and more than Rs 8.5 million from money with undisclosed sources. He said Rs 2.76 million was recovered from people illegally extracting riverbed materials.
Smaller recoveries included Rs 287,000 from seizure of illegal timber and Rs 702,000 from those involved in illegal trade of livestock and poultry, AIG Kafle said.
