KATHMANDU: The Premier International School grounds in Satdobato buzzed with excitement as Division A of District 41 staged the third season of the Nepal Toastmasters Futsal Tournament, an event that combined competitive play with a celebration of community and teamwork.

More than 120 players from 12 Toastmasters teams across Nepal took part in the one-day tournament, which drew both experienced members and newcomers. Organisers said the event emphasised healthy competition, mutual respect and collaboration—values central to the Toastmasters movement.

After a series of closely contested matches, Lalitpur Lions defeated 8849 FC in the final to lift the championship trophy. The decisive match showcased tactical play and strong teamwork, keeping spectators engaged until the final whistle.

Individual awards recognised standout performances. Abhinav Shrestha of 8849 FC (Everest Toastmasters Club) was named Best Player of the Tournament. Soni Chaurasia of BVS Knights (Brihaspati Toastmasters Club) received the Best Female Player award, underscoring growing female participation in Toastmasters sports activities. Sujal Sahi of Lalitpur Lions (Lalitpur Toastmasters Club) finished as the Highest Goal Scorer.

Organisers credited the tournament’s success to sponsors and partners, including Canon, Wall Artistry Impero, Ace Institute of Management, Phone Store, Premier International School, Dabur Nepal, VisionSign, Nepal Mediciti and Vision Creation. Volunteers from educational, corporate and community Toastmasters clubs also played a key role in running the event.

Beyond the results, the tournament aimed to reinforce Toastmasters’ broader mission. Organisers highlighted how the futsal court served as an informal training ground for leadership skills—teamwork, resilience, adaptability and ethical competition—allowing mentors and new members to connect outside formal meeting settings.
