KATHMANDU: Consul General of Nepal in Lhasa, Laxmi Prasad Niraula, and Director General of the Immigration Department of Xizang Autonomous Region, Wangsi Hong, held a meeting on Tuesday.
During the meeting at the Consulate General, the two expressed satisfaction at the restoration of Miteri Bridge along Nepal–China border in Rasuwa district. The structure had been damaged by flooding in the Lhende River last July, and preparations are underway for the resumption of transit point from tomorrow, the Consulate General said in a press statement today.
They expressed hope that the development will help strengthen Nepal–China relations.
The meeting also focused on systematising border points between the two countries, facilitating cross-border imports and exports, and the movement of people, as well as strengthening border security arrangements.
