KATHMANDU: Nepal welcomed a total of 1,158,459 foreign tourists during 2025, a slight increase on the previous year, Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) reported.
The figure compares with 1,147,548 visitors in 2024, the NTB said.
The board’s breakdown of arrivals in 2025 shows that Indian tourists constituted the largest group at 292,438, followed by Americans at 112,316.
Nepal attracted 58,684 Chinese tourists during the year, while 57,545 visitors arrived from the UK.
Altogether 49,357 visitors came from Bangladesh, 37,550 from Australia, 30,243 from Sri Lanka, 30,227 from Thailand and 24,763 from Germany in 2025, the NTB added.
In December alone, 98,190 foreign visitors arrived in Nepal, the board stated.
The NTB said the highest number of foreign tourists to enter Nepal was in 2019, when 1,197,191 visitors arrived.
