KATHMANDU: Gold prices in Nepal rose sharply on Friday, increasing by Rs 2,100 per tola in the domestic market, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association.
The gold was traded at Rs 267,800 per tola, up from Rs 265,700 per tola on the previous trading day. Despite the latest rise, gold remains below its record high of Rs 270,600 per tola, which was reached on December 28, 2025.
Silver, however, moved in the opposite direction on Friday. The price of the metal fell by Rs 55 per tola to Rs 4,780, compared with Rs 4,835 per tola a day earlier.
Silver had previously hit an all-time high of Rs 4,935 per tola on January 7, reflecting strong demand and global price trends at the time.
