KATHMANDU: Global IME Bank organised a blood donation programme simultaneously in all seven provinces on the occasion of its 19th anniversary, on January 13. The programme formed part of 19 social responsibility initiatives announced by the bank to mark the anniversary. Global IME Bank completed 19 years and entered its 20th year on January 2.
Blood donation events were held at the Tinpaini branch in Koshi Province; Bardibas branch in Madhesh Province; Kantipath and Narayangadh branches in Bagmati Province; Pokhara New Road branch in Gandaki Province; Chauraha Butwal and Nepalgunj branches in Lumbini Province; Surkhet branch in Karnali Province; and Dhangadhi branch in Sudurpashchim Province.
Organised in collaboration with Grande International Hospital and the Nepal Red Cross Society, the programme attracted 558 donors. The blood collected will be distributed with priority given to poor, destitute and low‑income individuals.
The bank said it has been continuously undertaking such social work under its corporate social responsibility programme.
Global IME Bank has been honoured in various categories by national and international institutions, receiving awards including Bank of the Year 2014, Best Internet Bank 2016, Best Bank Nepal 2024 and 2025, the Euromoney Award for Excellence 2022, 2024 and 2025, Best Bank ESG Nepal 2024, and Best Employer.
