Heavy rainfall obstructs traffic on Butwal-Narayangadh road section

MADHYABINDU, NAWALPARASI: Butwal‑Narayangadh road section along the East-West Highway is obstructed for traffic today. Heavy rainfall made the Daunne section in Binayi Tribeni Rural Municipality‑2 slippery, police said.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Yubaraj Khadka of District Police Office Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East) said vehicular movement was disrupted after vehicles became trapped near Gheukhola and Bishwokarma temple in Daunne because of muddy and slippery conditions.

“One‑way traffic is in operation after vehicular movement was obstructed due to muddy and slippery road since the rainfall this morning,” he said, adding that a truck stuck in the mud caused a long queue of vehicles heading west from the east.

According to the Narayangadh‑Butwal Road Project, efforts are underway to resume normal traffic on the affected section.
