KATHMANDU: The 11th Nepal Buildcon International Expo, aimed at advancing the country’s construction sector, was formally inaugurated on Thursday. The exhibition is being held at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu, and will run until February 8.

Organisers said the expo brings domestic and foreign technologies, materials and services for the construction industry onto a single platform. More than 300 national and international brands are taking part, with over 200 stalls showcasing the latest products and services.

Jointly organised for the past 11 years by Media Space Solutions and Futurex Trade Fair and Events, the expo seeks to connect Nepal’s construction industry with modern technology and to promote locally produced construction materials and technologies to international markets.

Visitors can view a wide range of construction items and services, including architectural hardware, aluminium extrusion, marble, tiles, sanitary ware, modular kitchens, roofing and cladding, lifts and escalators, doors and windows, flooring and wall coverings, glass glazing, pipes and plumbing fittings, construction chemicals, PVC and uPVC profiles, batteries, generators, cement and steel.

The exhibition has created a broad business network of importers, manufacturers, distributors and service providers, and has drawn nationally and internationally renowned companies, designers, engineers, architects and other construction professionals. Individuals and organisations planning private residences, business complexes and commercial buildings are anticipated to attend.

Flybird Interior is the main sponsor of the expo, which is powered by Lumbini Ceramics (Laminar Tiles).
