Birgunj Customs Office collects over Rs 116bn in 1st half of current FY

BIRGUNJ, PARSA: Birgunj Customs Office has collected Rs 116.58 billion in revenue in the first half of current fiscal year 2025/26, with receipts largely dependent on imports of petroleum products and vehicles.

Of that total, Rs 37.85 billion has been collected from imports of petroleum products alone in six‑month period. The second-highest source of revenue is imports of transport vehicles and their spare parts, from which Rs 13.98 billion has been collected.

Information Officer Udaya Singh Bista stated that Birgunj Customs’ revenue depends on receipts from imports of petroleum products and of transport vehicles and their spare parts.

In the first six months of current fiscal year, Rs 6.83 billion has been collected from iron and goods made of iron, Rs 5.26 billion from textile imports and Rs 4.91 billion from electrical machinery, equipment and their spare parts. Rs 1.83 billion has been collected from imports of alcoholic beverages and Rs 1.81 billion from cosmetic goods.
