KALIKOT: WorldLink Communications has installed a 3 kW solar power system and provided a deep freezer for medicine storage at Nanikot Basic Health Post in Pachaljharana Rural Municipality-7, Kalikot district.

The donation, made under WorldLink’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, aims to address long-standing problems at the health post caused by unreliable electricity and inadequate refrigeration. Health workers and local representatives at the handover ceremony said the new solar system and deep freezer will enable safe storage of medicines, vaccines and other temperature-sensitive supplies and help to ensure uninterrupted basic health services.

Anupa Bhandari Jalan, Director of WorldLink’s CSR Department, attended the ceremony along with local stakeholders. Jalan said the company has been conducting community-oriented social responsibility programmes across the country and remains committed to strengthening rural health services. She added that WorldLink prioritises improvements in education and health alongside investments in technology and infrastructure.

In the same ward, WorldLink also completed an online English course for 25 students of Pangeli Devi Secondary School using a smart board, implemented in collaboration with the Lokopakar Institute. Director Jalan visited the school to observe the classes, review students’ progress and assess the effectiveness of the digital lessons. Certificates were distributed to participating students at the event.

WorldLink said the combined initiatives are expected to improve rural health service delivery and expand access to digital education in the area.
