GCN officials outlined how ESG integration is increasingly linked to long-term business resilience, regulatory compliance and stakeholder confidence. The discussion covered environmental responsibility, social inclusion and governance standards, with reference to Nepal’s evolving business landscape.

Krishna Shah, Executive Director of GCN, highlighted membership benefits, including access to global resources and participation in initiatives such as the ‘Forward Faster’ programme. He also briefed participants on carbon trading mechanisms and potential opportunities under emission trading systems.

Minita Ghimire, Participation Engagement Manager at GCN, led a detailed presentation reviewing existing sustainability practices across Golchha Group’s key companies. She identified areas for improvement, including data measurement, impact reporting and end-of-life product management, while underscoring the importance of workplace inclusion, particularly for persons with disabilities.

International examples, including sustainability initiatives by Toyota Motor Corporation and Samsung Electronics, were cited to illustrate ESG integration in the automotive and electronics sectors.

Representatives of Golchha Group said sustainability efforts require cross-departmental engagement rather than being confined to a single unit.

The session concluded with a question-and-answer segment, with organisers describing the engagement as part of a broader shift within Nepal’s private sector towards responsible and transparent business practices.
