NRB directs banks to provide services on Holi, election day

KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has directed banks and financial institutions (BFIs) to provide banking services on public holidays.

The central bank has instructed them to keep their offices open on the Holi festival and on the day of the House of Representatives election.

The NRB has instructed commercial banks designated to conduct government transactions to ensure arrangements are in place for payments and revenue deposits. BFIs operating bank accounts for election campaigning have been asked to make arrangements to provide banking services for political parties and candidates, including depositing and disbursing cash, cheques or other instruments.
