Golchha Group donates Rs 50 million to Kathmandu Institute of Child Health

KATHMANDU: Golchha Group, one of Nepal’s leading industrial and business houses, has donated Rs 50 million to the Kathmandu Institute of Child Health (KIOCH) to support children’s healthcare services.

The contribution was handed over at an event on Wednesday, where Golchha Group Chairman Sekhar Golchha and Prof Dr Bhagwan Koirala signed a financial support agreement under the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. The donation is intended to improve healthcare services and ensure easier access to treatment for children.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Golchha said he was proud to be part of the initiative to build children’s hospitals across all seven provinces. “Our collaboration with KIOCH has officially started from today,” he said, and he assured continued participation and support from Golchha Group for such efforts.

Prof Dr Koirala, on receiving the contribution, thanked Golchha Group for their support. “The support from Golchha Group will be used to help thousands of children receive high-quality medical care, as well as to support the ongoing construction of hospitals in each province,” Dr Koirala said.

Under KIOCH’s master plan to establish children’s hospitals in all seven provinces, facilities in Damak in Koshi Province and Kathmandu in Bagmati Province are already in operation. KIOCH has been established with the goal of providing high-quality healthcare services to children.

Golchha Group, one of Nepal’s oldest and most prominent business conglomerates, employs over 20,000 people and is active in numerous CSR activities. Over the decades, the group has partnered with organisations including Teacher for Nepal, Disabled Newlife Center, Ramlal Golchha Eye Hospital in Biratnagar, Shree Saraswati Secondary School in Ramagram-12, Nawalparasi, and Nepal Ambulance.
