KATHMANDU: A delegation led by World Bank (WB) Country Director for Nepal, David Sislen, paid a courtesy call on Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Dr Bikram Timilsina, at his office today.
Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also attended the meeting, which focused on the Nepal Digital Transformation Project to be implemented with World Bank support and aimed at expanding access to develop the country’s information technology sector, data management, digital transformation and governance reforms, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology said.
On the occasion, Minister Timilsina expressed gratitude for the continuous support provided by the World Bank for Nepal’s socio-economic development and said the Nepal Digital Transformation Project will be implemented at a rapid pace.
He noted that result-oriented work in infrastructure development and civic service delivery has already begun since the formation of the new government and said the government is focused on resolving project issues in a different way than in the past.
He added that the progress of projects implemented in collaboration with the World Bank will be visible soon.
