Butwal-Narayangadh road remains blocked after heavy rain

KATHMANDU: Traffic on Butwal-Narayangadh road is disrupted after heavy rain on Wednesday.

The Daunne section of Binayi Triveni Rural Municipality-2 in Nawalpur district, along the East-West Highway, has been completely blocked after roads turned slippery, police said.

“The road near Ghiukhola and Bishwakarma Temple in Daunne has become muddy and slippery, and vehicles have become stuck,” Superintendent of Police Yubaraj Khadka of District Police Office, Nawalpur, said. Rain since Wednesday afternoon has affected the road and caused traffic jams.

The Narayangadh-Butwal Road Project said efforts are underway to repair the road by laying gravel in the Daunne section.

As construction work on the Daunne section under the Butwal-Narayangadh road expansion has not been completed, the route remains blocked even after minor rainfall.
