KATHMANDU: The government has directed all ministries and public bodies to ensure the effective implementation of the annual action plan and the policies and programmes for fiscal year 2026/27.

A meeting of secretaries chaired by Chief Secretary Govinda Bahadur Karki at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar on Monday decided to prepare detailed implementation plans and carry out the government's action plan in a timely manner.

The meeting also decided to prepare an action plan to clear and reduce arrears highlighted in the Auditor General's Report and strengthen market monitoring to control consumer fraud and artificial shortages.

Similarly, it decided to ensure robust security arrangements during the Tihar and Chhath festivals, give priority to domestic products in public procurement, and implement the Government Decision Process (Simplification and Digitalisation) Regulations, 2083.

The meeting further decided to deliver citizen-friendly services at public offices by establishing single-point service systems to ensure easier, smoother and more effective service delivery to the public.
